My name is Nick Gessell, and I am running for Farmington City Council.  I am married to my high school sweetheart, Cara who is a Registered Nurse. We have three beautiful little girls, Stella (5), Millie (3) and Piper (3 months) who make our days busy and blessed.  Our girls love to be involved in as many activities as possible and enjoy gymnastics, dance, and swimming. You can find us outside most nights, if the weather is nice, chatting with the neighbors while all the kids play until the sun goes down.

 

I have a diverse background as I have gone to school for finance and business, but have worked in the private investigations field, stock market, and most recently the health insurance field where I am currently a Manager of Fraud, Abuse, Waste, and Error. One of my greatest strengths is managing money and cutting costs to meet budgets as well as identifying where cost-cutting measures need to be implemented and finding creative and realistic ways to meet these goals.

 

If elected to the Farmington City Council, my goal is to provide transparency for the residents of Farmington and to be a voice for the people. Communication is key and keeping the residents informed of decisions is crucial.  As members of the community for the last few years, we have come to love Farmington, but also see the need for some drastic improvements. I would like to decrease the tax burden on residents by getting more businesses within our community as well as continuing to strengthen our schools and support not only our educators, but also our public safety officers as safety within our community is of utmost importance.
